Synopsis

Dante gerät ins Visier des Teufels Baal, der einst bei Dantes Vater Sparda die Schwertkunst erlernt hat. Jetzt, wo Sparda spurlos verschwunden ist, will Baal gegen Dante kämpfen, um zu beweisen, dass sein neu entwickelter Kampfstil dem von Sparda weit überlegen ist. Baal befiehlt seinem jüngeren Bruder Mordeus, Dante zu rufen und zum Duell herauszufordern. Mordeus wurde ebenfalls von Sparda im Schwertkampf unterwiesen aber er verfolgt unabhängig von Baal seine eigenen Pläne. Und dann ist da auch noch der Teufel Sid, der hinter den Kulissen die Fäden zieht.
