Synopsis

Auf einem Marktplatz entdeckt Maxine Plakate mit dem Foto ihres ehemaligen Zöglings Donovan Norwood, der um eine Adoption bittet. Als Maxine ihn daraufhin zur Rede stellt, erfährt sie, wie sehr sich der mittlerweile 18-Jährige jemanden wünscht, der sich um ihn kümmert und stolz an seiner Schulabschlussfeier teilnimmt. Maxine ist erschüttert und verspricht Hilfe, wird aber durch den Anthony Bird-Fall abgelenkt. Erst ein Zeitungsartikel über Anthony, der ein großes Echo findet, bringt Maxine auf die rettende Idee: Sie gibt für Donovan eine Anzeige auf und scheint damit tatsächlich Erfolg zu haben.
